To introduce a new car wash location and build local awareness, a family-friendly Grand Opening Kickoff Party was hosted on-site, featuring free car washes offered both during the event and throughout the week. The experience included year-long membership giveaway, popular costumed characters, food trucks, music, face painters, balloon artists —all designed to draw in residents and give them a no-cost opportunity to try the wash. A limited-time promotional offer was also available: the first month of the unlimited wash membership for just $0.01, creating a compelling incentive for attendees to explore membership options.
Promotion combined local print media, town chamber email blasts, local business & non profit collaborations, organic Facebook posts, and targeted Meta ads, ensuring the event reached both current followers and new households within the area. Advertisements included QR codes and/or links to sign up for their chance to win a year-long membership, creating an avenue for data collection and ultimately remarketing. Influential town people like the Mayor and Town Council members were invited and attended. Several staff members were positioned throughout the event, each briefed on a unified sales message so they could naturally introduce the membership offer at appropriate touchpoints throughout the various activities on site. This allowed conversations to flow organically during activities, ensuring attendees had clear awareness of trial and sign-up opportunities without disrupting the family experience. Redemption for the free car wash on site required that the customer sign up at a QR code to receive their coupon, another avenue used to collect data for remarketing campaigns.
While the event’s primary purpose was awareness and community engagement, it simultaneously strengthened retention among existing members and primed new prospects for both free trial and discounted membership conversion. Attendance grew steadily as this event model was repeated at additional locations, rising from roughly 60 attendees at the first activation to more than 300 participants at the most recent event. Over 1200+ contacts collected to date can be attributed to these on site event efforts and plugged into automated customer paths.
